Photo of bus on Newquay coastal route
We may not yet be ready to be totally Car Free; however there are plenty of ways that we can reduce our use of the car and in so doing reduce our impact not only on our local environment by halting traffic congestion but also by reducing our carbon footprint on a global scale. So whether you decide to hike, bike, bus or train you will be making a small step to a greener future.

Much of Newquay town, the beaches and attractions are easily accessible on foot. For people living and staying near the coast, the South West Coast Path is the way to get into town - what better way to get to the beach or prime yourself for a spot of shopping than a beautiful walk along the cliffs and coast path? For a different view altogether, you can even walk along the beaches to get to the town - just check the tides first. You'll see much more of Newquay on foot than you would in the car and you'll save money on parking too. (In the summer it is often the quickest way around!)

If you like going home with lots of photographs to show your friends, make them jealous with some shots of the coastline that you can only get by venturing along the coast. The views from the outskirts of the town at Pentire towards Crantock to the west and from Lusty Glaze to Watergate Bay to the East are just beautiful and only minutes from the town centre. You dont have to venture far to be amazed!

If, after all that exploring, you fancy catching the bus back to your base, you'll find the bus station centrally located (just behind The Newquay Arms) and stops on the main routes in/out of the town. Regular buses run inland and along the coast.
