The Newquay Discovery Trail, written by David Faulkner, charts the growth, struggles and endeavours of one of the world's premier seaside resorts. From its origins as an ancient port to a haven for the gathering tribes of surfers visiting from all over the world today, Newquay's history is a colourful tapestry of fact and fiction.

There are two trails shown on the Newquay Town Map; the Hetty and the Ada which are outlined in the following text. If you walk these trails you will find, along the way, beautiful Cornish slate discs created by local sculptor Peter Martin with words containing clues to Newquay's rich heritage.
