Nature lovers will enjoy habitats such as The Gannel Estuary with its salt marshes that attract sea birds and wading birds as well as a host of other animal species; Rushy Green behind Crantock beach with its special sand dune habitat and unusual flora; Pentire Head with its gorse thickets and teeming bird life. Nearer to the town,the cliffs around the Harbour bloom every summer with wild flowers in abandon;the cry of the herring gull is ever present and of course Newquay's beaches offer a paradise in every rock pool for the exploring mind.
